Glebelands Organic Produce

Glebelands Organic Produce is an organic market garden in Sale. It’s a bit of a hidden gem. My favourite organic produce Dan sells is mixed salad leaves, bumper spring onions and I love the seasonal apples! Most of the leafy veg you find in the veg boxes come from Glebelands. Dan Larke took over the site in 2021, after completing a number of volunteering positions at farms across the UK. The 2.7-acre site in Sale M33. The site is home to three large, permanent polytunnels, a sizable greenhouse and some portable polytunnel structures. The team try to produce as much of their own compost as possible on-site, to limit miles travelled and also save costs. Overall the site produces around 10 tonnes of its own organic compost every year, but they still need to bring in another 25 tonnes to ensure the crops get the nutrients they need to grow. Being organic, the team prides itself on thinking about what’s right for the environment and so chooses to do the majority of groundwork by hand, only opting for machinery when the ground is impenetrable.

Loving the quality of the veg and fruit and I more than love love love how long it lasts if stored properly. Some items are still good to eat after 3 weeks. Supermarket stuff would be mush after a week
